A Little Bit of Love Program

Rise & Shine raises funds to beautify at-risk historical landmarks in communities we serve.  Our first project is the Jerusalem Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal (C.M.E.) Church in San Augustine, Texas.

In 1845, Sutton and Bartlett, two slaves, were granted licenses to preach.  Sutton and Bartlett created a place of worship, they called the "Church on the Branch."  The Jerusalem C.M.E. is the oldest black church on record in Texas.  The Jerusalem Church has a beautiful history, beautiful people, and is a beautiful place to be...it just needed a Little Bit of Love!
